LebVote

LebVote (Previous Akkar Vote)

LebVote began as Akkar Vote, a focused civic-tech project built by the Akkar Media team to make the 2018 Lebanese parliamentary election results in the Akkar governorate transparent and accessible at the village level. While official results existed, they were scattered, hard to read, and rarely broken down to the granularity that local communities actually cared about. The original platform let residents of Akkar see exactly how their own town voted, which candidates and lists won the most preferential votes, and how results varied across neighboring villages. The response from the community was strong enough that we expanded the project to cover all of Lebanon.

The upgraded platform, now hosted at leb-vote.com, presents Lebanese parliamentary election results across multiple cycles, including 2018, 2022, and 2026. Voters, journalists, researchers, and political analysts can drill down by electoral district (دائرة), by town (بلدة), and by candidate, and compare candidates head-to-head across cycles. The site is built entirely in Arabic with right-to-left layout, supports search, party-level breakdowns, candidate comparison tools, and dedicated views for diaspora voting results — a critical dataset given the size of the Lebanese expatriate electorate.

Behind the scenes, the platform aggregates official published results into a structured database that powers fast filtering and cross-referencing. A premium tier and user account system support more advanced features for researchers, while an admin dashboard handles user management and activity logging. The project continues to grow with each new election cycle, with ongoing work on data coverage, monetization through programmatic advertising, and tooling for bulk processing of official election documents.
